nyc apartment redux
Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 6:08AM Several years ago I was thumbing through the pages of Real Simple and fell in love with several items in one of their photos. To my surprise (not really), one of the handmade throw pillows in the shoot was credited to my friend from college, Jane Fife.
Jane graduated in interior design but has since grown her resume to include mom, stylist, property entrepreneur and renovator. Have a look at one of her remodels, a studio in Manhattan:

I can't get over the great radiator covers and built-ins. Jane's husband installed the prefab bookcases, wired them, and Jane did all the trimwork. Also take note of the closets. Very impressive. She pulls off transitional like nobody's business. Aren't the marble slab counters and backsplash gorgeous? And the chandelier in contrast to the midcentury sofa...love it. To see the before photos, go here. You'll appreciate her remodel even more when you look at the floorplan below.

(Almost) makes me want to downsize! Jane and her family are working on their next big project, a four-apartment Brownstone remodel (her family living in one them while renting out the other three). I'm looking forward to being able to document her journey!

What a vixen…

Congrats, Jane! Gorgeous! Go cougs!
And what a savvy vixen!! I so want to be in that position, but it won't be for a few years. She's done it right! Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see what she does with them.
